How to Get Started
1. Learn Your Basics (and terminology!)
Strong basics create a strong foundation for all tricks!
Without the basics, the more advanced version of a move will always look sloppy and be more difficult to do.
2. Train With Others
Be open and willing to accept constructive criticism from others.
3. Approach The Trick a Different Way
If you can't land it, try to think of why you can't land it, and approach the trick a different way. If you don't change anything from the last time you messed up, you'll mess up again.
4.Film Yourself
Your tricks might not look as good as they feel. If you film yourself, you can see how you can make your trick look better.
5. Stretch and Condition
This will make the tricks physically easier to do, give you the endurance to trick longer, and allow you to land higher level tricks.
6. Find and Watch Tutorials
There are plenty of tricking tutorials on YouTube that you can find for almost any trick you're looking for! If one doesn't seem to help, keep looking for others until you find one that matches your learning style (or combine tips from different tutorials!).
7. Overcome Fear
Come into tricking knowing you won't be in your comfort zone in the beginning and with the mentality that overcoming fear is important.
8. Trampoline
Get on a trampoline and learn some air awareness. If you are not comfortable with flipping or twisting, you can drill to no end on a trampoline as opposed to crashing on the floor.
